The youngest member of Nottinghamshire’s toughest fighting family, Bailey ‘BadBoy’ Sugden, makes his second bid for sporting stardom in a SuperFight on the card of GLORY 49 in Rotterdam this weekend.

Five months after his GLORY debut at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden, the Suggy’s Gym professional will be looking to add another victory to his record when he takes on China’s Chenglong Zhang on Saturday 9 December.

The two men will go head to head at the city’s Ahoy Stadium in front a sell-out crowd of over 15,000 in a show which will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass to kickboxing fans in 180 countries across the globe.

Facing an opponent ranked number 1 in his home country and number 10 in the GLORY rankings, the Newark 20-year old said: “Fighting on the world’s biggest promotion, watched by millions and in Holland, the home of kickboxing, no less – I can’t think of a better way to end what’s already been an incredible year for me so far.

“This is my chance to really make my mark and I just hope Chenglong is ready for war because that’s exactly what’s coming his way when we meet in the ring on Saturday night.”

Head coach Dean Sugden added: “With Bailey set to showcase his skills in Rotterdam, Chad preparing for his first pro boxing title fight next March and Regis well on the way to recovery from his recent injury, spirits are definitely at an all-time high at Suggy’s Gym right now.”

“We’re going from strength to strength, not only on the professional front but also at amateur level. On the Bracebridge Boxing Club’s home show in Lincoln last Friday, two of Newark Amateur Boxing Club’s rising stars added wins to their records when Brandon O’Dowd defeated Kieron Skate by unanimous decision and Connor Meanwell beat Jack Thompson by a majority decision.

“Helping to shape the future of Newark’s next generation of fighters is something that’s always been important to us and we’ll be taking another step forward with this when NABC’s first ever home show takes place in Farndon on Saturday 10 February. Full details of the event are still being finalised but it’s already been agreed that a re-match between Connor and Jack will be included on the card.”

UFC passes for GLORY 49 are available here and live streaming of the SuperFight Series begins at 6.30pm UK time.
